To support web hosting and ongoing improvements to the SpeedCoach Log application, we charge a small fee for each practice that you upload. Each uploaded practice consumes one upload credit and the number of remaining upload credits is tracked for each user. As credits are consumed, users may purchase more credits to replenish their account.
To allow new users to try the application, everyone is given an initial balance of 15 credits. When these are consumed, additional credits may be purchased in blocks of 10, 25 or 75. When purchased in blocks of 75, the per-upload cost is $0.32 in US dollars. The cost may be slightly lower or higher in other currencies.
This model is intended to make the cost of the service proportional to the benefit that each user receives from it. Because rowing & paddling are seasonal activities, this model also avoids fixed monthly charges that would apply whether or not you were able to use the application.
Finally, to keep the cost from becoming prohibitive for the most active users, you are only charged for the first 12 uploads in each calendar month. Once you have uploaded 12 practices, all remaining uploads during that month are free and do not affect your balance of upload credits.
